Established in 2009, our aim is to bring innovation and inspiration to new and experienced volleyball players in Poole and Bournemouth. Our solid community nurtures growth and has a strong passion for challenge. We welcome new players at any level of ability. Out on the town we’re an odd pack; young and old, tall and small, but we’re all focused on improving and having a good time.
We train indoors at the LeAF Academy every week (Mondays, 8:30-10pm), which is a new, purpose built, volleyball sports hall large enough to accommodate international competitions. Our sessions are aimed at coaching our teams to play to a higher standard and at providing beginners with the necessary support to progress. We have 3 teams in the local league which compete at different levels, allowing players to progress. Our beach volleyball season begins as soon as the temperature rises and the light evenings come around. These sessions are a bit more relaxed.
Our aim is to keep costs to a minimum and we work hard to appeal for grants and funds to support the club. There is a weekly training fee which covers the cost of renting our sports hall and a small, yearly membership fee which goes towards league costs.
“Hi, I started Panthers volleyball club with friends in 2009 and I’m incredibly proud of where we are today. From a small team to a club of over 40, it’s been amazing to grow and retain a strong sense of community and friendship. From our most experienced players to our beginners, everybody puts in a fantastic amount of effort and I can’t thank our coaches and volunteers enough for the time they put in. Running a club surrounded by good friends can never be a chore.
We recruit lots of new players from all kinds of backgrounds and are happy for people to come and give it a try – no pressure! If you’re thinking about joining a team, we’d love to hear from you.” Lindsay, Club Chair
